Overview & Resources
This training program equips law enforcement officers, soldiers, and armed security personnel with essential knowledge to effectively integrate optical sights with firearms, enhancing accuracy and first-round hit probability.
Emphasizing the equal importance of optics and firearms, it encourages users to master common reticle functions and adjustments while blending modern technology with foundational shooting skills.
Includes definitions and explanations of key terminology related to weapon-mounted optics, aiming systems, and related accessories.
Optical weapon sights are a mechanical device and can fail. There are many reasons why your weapon sight may not be working properly, however, most of the time it will turn out to be user error. Learn some of the warning signs that your weapon sight is trying to tell you and try these recommendations before contacting the manufacturer for repair of the unit.
Key principles include verifying firearm clearance before mounting or adjusting optics, maintaining situational awareness to prevent negligent discharges, and ensuring a proper zeroing process in a controlled environment. Regular maintenance, proper storage, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) help maximize the effectiveness and longevity of optics while minimizing operational risks.
*LAW ENFORCEMENT / MILITARY ONLY
A detailed review of any potential advantages and disadvantages of all optics systems available for use in Law Enforcement and/or Military operations. We discuss consideration for organizational use, including cost, procurement, liability, external media optics, and more.
